Kids’ Football Boots FAQs
Firm ground (FG) boots are for natural grass pitches, the most common surface in Ireland. Astro turf boots have a flat rubber sole designed for 3G/4G artificial pitches. Indoor boots have a smooth non-marking sole for sports halls. If your child plays on a GAA pitch, firm ground is the right choice. If they train on an artificial surface, choose astro turf.
For younger children (under 8), velcro boots are easier to put on and stay secure during play. Laced boots tend to give a better fit and more support for older children and teenagers. Most O'Neills junior boots are available in both fastening styles.
Football boots should fit snugly with minimal heel movement. Leave around half a centimetre of growing room at the toe, enough for a season. Always measure feet before buying, as sizing can vary between brands.

Remove mud after every use with a soft brush. Wipe clean with a damp cloth and mild soap if needed. Air dry away from direct heat and do not leave them on a radiator, as this can crack the material. Store in a ventilated area between uses.
