All Ireland Football Semi Finals
St Brigid’s are heading back to Croke Park after edging a thrilling AIB All-Ireland senior club semi-final against Scotstown at Breffni Park. The Roscommon champions were inspired by Bobby Nugent, who kicked some sublime two pointers, and Brian Derwin who struck a memorable early goal. Influential wing-back Paul McGrath chipped in with two points and was central to a disciplined defensive effort that withstood intense late pressure from the Monaghan men.
Dingle produced another inspired comeback to defeat Ballyboden St Enda’s at Páirc Uí Chaoimh, having been trailing the Dublin champions by 10 points early in the second half. Injured captain Paul Geaney, unable to start, was introduced at half-time and proved decisive as he inspired his side to extra-time. He finished with eight points, highlighted by a crucial two-pointer to force the additional period and a late score that ultimately turned the game in their favour. Tom O’Sullivan was outstanding in support, with AFL star Mark O’Connor sealing Dingle’s appearance in their first ever All Ireland Senior final.
All Ireland Club Camogie Final
Athenry were crowned All-Ireland Club camogie champions for the first time since 2018 after an absorbing replay against St Finbarr’s. It took the full hour to separate the sides as momentum switched back and forth in a frost Semple stadium. Entering stoppage time, Athenry found another gear, with a heroic score coming from player of the match Clodagh Burke, followed by an insurance free by Jessica Gill to clinch the All-Ireland for Athenry.
