Cork continued their strong start with an impressive win over Munster rivals Tipperary, in a game that threatened to boil over, Cork got revenge from their last meeting in the All-Ireland final. Waterford followed up their win last week against Limerick with a strong showing against Offaly, the Deise looked to have gotten over their first week loss to Cork Meanwhile, Limerick and Kilkenny served up one of the games of the weekend, with Limerick bouncing back well to gain a much-needed win over the Cats.

Having been tested against Ulster sides Antrim and Down, Wexford producing a strong attacking display to see off Carlow to make it 3 wins from 3. Clare also remains unbeaten, back up their high scoring win over Antrim with a ruthless display against Down. Kildare provided the surprising result of the round, in an important game against Antrim, the Lilywhites shone through the performances of Muiris Curtin and Jack Sheridan.

Division 2
Westmeath came out victors against neighbours Meath, although the Royals showed a strong performance in a 3 point defeat. Kerry produced a devastating attacking performance against London, firing in five goals to cement their place on top of Division 2. Derry got their league campaign moving after two defeats, their win over Mayo will be important in the final standings.

Roscommon made a strong statement with an impressive win over Armagh, their two goals closed the door on an Armagh comeback. Wicklow’s goal threat was again on show as they overcame Tyrone, making the most of their chances to secure a well-earned victory. Fermanagh and Louth played out a lively, high-scoring encounter, with Louth edging the contest through Andrew Cosgrove’s 2-2 contribution.

Sligo remain undefeated with a statement win over Lancashire, maintaining their scoring from last week, the O’Kelly-Lynch brothers landed 2-13 between them yet again. Longford produced an eye-catching result away from home, overpowering Monaghan with a strong second-half showing to run out comfortable winners. Leitrim were also in ruthless form on their travels, firing in two goals and racking up a big scoreline against Warwickshire.

The League of Ireland season got off to an engaging start, with plenty of intensity and early talking points across the opening round of fixtures. Derry City began their campaign with a hard-fought win over Sligo Rovers, Josh Thomas popping up with the winner in injury time. Bohemian FC and St Patrick’s Athletic played out a tight, competitive draw at Dalymount Park, with both sides cancelling each other out in a closely contested encounter. Drogheda United made an impressive start on the road, snatching a narrow victory against Galway United, while Waterford and Shelbourne shared the spoils in a spirited opening-night draw at the RSC.
