A classic Ulster championship battle that required extra time to decide a winner, with Armagh edging Tyrone through a late Conor Turbitt point. In a game that Armagh had almost won in normal time, Ben McDonnells goal forced the game to go on, where Armagh narrowly edged it.

Leinster Championship

Wicklow powered past Carlow with a strong attacking display, building momentum early and maintaining control throughout. Goals from Pádraig O’Toole and Oisín McGraynor kept Carlow chasing, as they set up a quarter-final clash with Dublin.

Westmeath blew Longford away with a first-half whirlwind, hitting a series of goals to take complete control of the contest. Their attacking intensity left Longford with too much to do, as Westmeath cruised through in dominant fashion.

Laois proved too strong for Offaly in a definitive performance, with Evan O’Carroll leading the scoring charge. Their two goals in the first half built their lead, before Simon Fingleton put the contest out of site for the Faithful County.

Munster Championship

Cork powered into the Munster semi-final with a devastating first-half goal blitz that set the tone early at Páirc Uí Chaoimh. While Limerick fought hard in the second half, ultimately the Rebels had too much firepower.

Tipperary delivered a composed display, with Conor O’Connor leading the scoring and keeping the scoreboard moving throughout. Waterford battled well and struck for a goal to stay in contention, but Tipp’s control and consistency proved decisive down the stretch.

Connacht Championship

Leitrim claimed a memorable win over Sligo at Markievicz Park, producing an inspired performance to upset their neighbours. Despite Sligo’s strong scoring return, Leitrim’s efficiency in front of goal and ability to strike at key moments proved decisive in a significant upset.

Roscommon produced a dominant attacking display in New York, racking up goals early to take full control of the contest. A fighting New York team rallied back before Roscommon took over the game with their sharp attacking play.

Mayo eased past London in difficult, windy conditions at Ruislip, adapting well to control the game throughout. Their accuracy and game management kept them firmly in charge, with London’s goal offering a better look on the scoreline.

Christy Ring Cup

Donegal were equally impressive on home soil, producing a strong all-round display to see off Wicklow. A key goal helped them take control, and they never looked in danger as they pushed clear.

Kerry’s clinical edge in front of goal proved decisive against Meath, with three goals putting daylight between the sides. Jordan Brick’s goal put an end to the game as a contest with 10 minutes to go.

Nicky Rackard Cup

Mayo made a flying start with a dominant win over Armagh, hitting the first 11 points of the game to take early control. Cormac Phillips led the charge and capped his performance with a goal, as Mayo’s attacking power proved far too strong despite Armagh’s two-goal response.

Tyrone were in control from the outset against Sligo, with early goals from Shea Munroe setting the tone. A third before half-time effectively ended the contest, and a fourth after the break sealed a comprehensive win despite a late red card.

Louth came through a tight and physical encounter with Fermanagh, edging it in the closing stages. A second-half goal proved decisive in a game where they had to dig deep, especially after going down to 14 men.

Sligo Rovers produced one of the standout results of the league so far, coming from behind to hand Bohemians their first defeat of the season at Dalymount Park. After a slow start, they grew into the game and found the winner through Sean McHale

Derry City were held to another frustrating draw on the road, twice surrendering the lead against Dundalk in an eventful clash at Oriel Park. Dundalk’s persistence paid off with a late equaliser through Ronan Teahan.

Masters Golf

Rory McIlroy etched his name further into golf history by defending his Masters title at Augusta, becoming the first player since 2002 to go back-to-back.

Despite early struggles in the final round and seeing his lead slip, McIlroy showed real resilience, regaining control with key birdies and holding his nerve down the stretch to finish on 12-under and secure a one-shot victory.

It marks his sixth major title, confirming his place among the game’s greats, with a composed finish under pressure highlighting the grit behind the win.
