Cricket in Australia is set to change forever with a fresh approach to the game thanks to the Australian Premier League (APL), which is set to be introduced in 2021.
The Brisbane Premier League (BPL) will be the first APL league to launch in the inaugural 2021 season. It will be a game-changing development of the sport and O’Neills is thrilled to be part of it as official apparel partner.
The five-week season will see eight privately owned franchises select their teams at an auction night for seniors and draft day for juniors. By revitalising and strengthening amateur cricket, male and female players will be able to experience what it’s like to play at a professional level.
The APL is set to re-inspire cricket in Australia, with the competition backed by high profile owners including Australian cricket legend Ian Healy AO, former UK First Class cricketer and current professional commentator Mark Nicholas, healthcare entrepreneurs and co-founders of Icon Cancer Group, Epic Pharmacy

Yesterday Irish soccer legend Paul Mc Grath visited the O’Neills Dublin Headquarters. Pauls mother lives in the area so he has always been curious about the O’Neills factory. We were delighted to welcome Paul to the factory yesterday and satisfy his curiosity!
Paul is one of Irelands greatest ever players. His football journey began not too far away from O’Neills at St Patrick's Athletic, however, he may be best remembered for playing his club football in England, with spells at Manchester United and Aston Villa. Paul won the FA Cup and the Football League Cup twice over a club career that spanned the best part of 17 years. However, it was Pauls performances for the boys in green that he is so widely revered in Ireland, in particular, his performance against Italy at Giants Stadium at the World Cup in 1994.
Many consider Paul a gentle giant off the pitch. It is easy to see why as he interacted with our staff. He posed for a countless number of photos and even made time to talk to the

Huge congratulations to Cricket Ireland on another momentous day for the sport that has gone from strength to strength here in recent years. Yes, Ireland has been granted Full Test status and has finally taken her place among the top cricket nations of the earth.
Following their meeting yesterday at the Oval in London, the International Cricket Council (ICC) made the historic decision to upgrade the status of Ireland and Afghanistan from associate to full member. This means Ireland can play Test matches against the world’s best cricketing countries. A mouthwatering prospect.
Congratulations
It is the culmination of a combination of hard work by the players in a series of inspiring results over the years, the dedication of coaches on the ground to promote the game, and the leadership of Cricket Ireland, not least by Warren Deutrom, the Chief Executive.
The news of Ireland’s was welcomed by Mr Deutrom: “It’s fantastic news for all involved with Irish cricket and I’d like to thank ICC and
