The All-Ireland senior club finals are looming. It’s not just an incredibly important day for the players, but for the town too. The buzz of a potential All-Ireland win is like no other. It’s the talk of the town with flags being flown far and wide. If the team wins, the parish wins.
Only four teams remain in the hunt for glory, but who will take home the titles? Kilcoo take on reigning football champions, Corofin, while Ballyhale battle with Borris-Ileagh to retain the hurling title. All will be decided in Croke Park this Sunday 19th January.
What better way to start 2020 than with some nail-biting action in the GAA. This weekend consisted of the senior club semi-finals for both hurling and football and saw the year get off to a tremendous start for some clubs while others were left devastated. But for Kilcoo, Corofin, Ballyhale, and Borris-Illeagh, they are on their way to Croker with the vision of becoming All-Ireland Champions. A dream for many but achieved by few.
