O’Neills signs on as new Knights Official Apparel Partner

The nib Newcastle Knights will break new ground next NRL season, with Irish sportswear giant O’Neills coming on board as the Club’s new Official Apparel Partner for 2020 and beyond.

Founded in 1918, O’Neills is a globally renowned manufacturer of team and leisurewear with an extensive history in Gaelic sports.
In recent decades, O’Neills has expanded its operations into other sports including Rugby League, and is currently the official provider to Super League outfits St Helens, Warrington and the Catalan Dragons, as well as linking with Super Rugby’s ACT Brumbies following their launch into the Australia and New Zealand markets in 2015.

Knights CEO Philip Gardner says O’Neills professional approach, manufacturing expertise and customer focus has set the partnership up for success.

“We are delighted to welcome O’Neills to the Newcastle Knights family,” Mr. Gardner said.“From the outset, O’Neills has been a joy to work with. Their expertise and vision have aligned neatly to where we wanted to take our playing and off-field lines. The fact they manage the production process from end-to-end means we have more control and comfort oversupply than ever before. The team at O’Neills understand rugby league from a high performance and design perspective thanks to their extensive background in Super League, and we are delighted that they saw an opportunity to take their organisation and brand to another level by teaming with the Knights in the National Rugby League.”

Antoinette Brophy, O’Neills Australasia General Manager, said: “O’Neills is thrilled to partner with the Newcastle Knights to charge into the future as official kit provider from 2020. O’Neills is proud of its’ century-old European history but we are also firmly focussed on moving forward – including right here in Australia.

“We are committed to delivering superior quality, high-performance teamwear with unbeatable delivery times, which aligns perfectly with the Knights’ focus on instilling excellence across all levels. We are confident that the new O’Neills kit will help the Knight’s deliver on their commitment to strengthening player and community pride, respect, and success on and off the field.”

The new training lines will be revealed when the Knights return for pre-season under new Head Coach Adam O’Brien in early November.
