Down footballers captured the imagination of Ulster GAA in the sixties winning three All Irelands. Men like Sean O’Neill, Paddy Doherty and James McCartan became household names in the process wearing the famous Down jersey.

O’Neills Fact: in 1933 Down added black to their Amber jersey and in 1962 switched to black shorts, one of the first teams to move away from traditional white shorts.
